CYCLING PARADISE TOUR IN COLLABORATION WITH LANDAL MOOI ZUTENDAAL AND BIORACER

‘The Ronde van Limburg Cycling Tour’ is the cycling tourist version of the professional cycling race ‘De Geberit Ronde van Limburg’, which will be held the next day. For this, the most important and most beautiful parts of the course are made available to the participants. With choices between 90 km or 125 km, you determine the route yourself. Depending on the chosen distance, the course passes over the Slingerberg of Kanne, through the castle of Alden Biesen in Bilzen, over the cobblestone strips of Mettekoven, Manshoven, Op de Kriezel, Oudeweg naar Heks, over the Burchtheuvel and Kleine Veldsteeg in Borgloon, to eventually arrive at an acceptable average speed.

After an invigorating shower, time to enjoy a delicious pasta buffet and a drink in the cozy Grand Café Narvik Mooi Zutendaal restaurant and terrace.

For cyclists who want to enjoy the lake from and off the bike, there is the ‘Landal Mooi Zutendaal’ family tour that goes around and around the green surroundings of Zutendaal. This 25 km long family bike tour is suitable for young and old alike. 

‘LANDAL BEAUTIFUL ZUTENDAAL’ FAMILY TOUR T 

The 25 km family tour, which was mainly mapped out for families, runs through the green surroundings of Zutendaal. You can register here or on-site from 9 am to 11 am.

Protective equipment on the road:    

Going to such a long run you should assure your safety and take some measures to avoid any risks. So be careful. Use good equipment, grab some water, try to use any kind of HRV app, if possible. It will track your heart rate variability and pulse during the road and will ensure your safety.

90 KM

As a warm-up for the 90 km ride, the route starts on flat, low-traffic roads. The WWII Vroenhoven bridge is the first landmark that is passed. The first slope of the day is the famous Slingerberg, also called mini Alpe d’Dhuez, in Kanne. Via Herderen it then goes to the spicy Keiberg in Rijkhoven.

After the passages through Alt-Hoeselt and Riksingen, the first supply comes into view after 40 km of cycling. (Note that for the 90 km there are two supplies, where the participants have to make a choice between the first, Swimming Pool Pliniusbron in Tongeren, and the second supply, coffee & pasta bar De Kapelanij in Borgloon . After the refreshment via Piringen, the Kolmontberg and Jesseren, where the 90 km and 125 km route split, it goes in one speed to Borgloon. After climbing the steep Castle Hill, the second supply station is located behind the church of Borgloon on De Kapelanij. After the break, the route follows the cobbled Colenberg in Kerniel to send the bike back to the east via Gors op Leeuw. Vliermaal, Schalkhoven, Hoeselt and Rijkhoven gradually disappear under the bicycle wheels and then the evocative passage over the cobbled Maastrichterallee Castle of Alden Biesento grasp. Via passages through the villages Kleine Spouwen, Waltwilder, Hoelbeek and Eigenbilzen, the finish in the domain of Landal Mooi Zutendaal has been reached! Yes!!!!

5 SLOPES AND 1 COPPER 948 ALTITUDE GAUGES

125 KM

 After the refreshment via Piringen, the Kolmontberg and Jesseren, here the 90 km and 125 km route splits, it goes to Haren-Bommershoven, Vechmaal, Horpmaal over the cobblestone strip Op de Kriezel in Heers. Via Heks to the next cobblestones of Manshoven , via Broekom to the Mettekovenberg and the cobbles of Fonteinhof and the first selective part is over. But not for long because just recovered, the cobblestone strip of the Weg naar Heks reappears. This is followed by the ascent of the once-open Bollenberg with passage at the see-through church from Borgloon to the Boeshovenberg via the sloping cobblestoneLittle Field Alley .    

After climbing the steep Castle Hill , the second supply station is located behind the church of Borgloon on De Kapelanij . After the break, the route follows the cobbled Colenberg in Kerniel to send the bike back to the east via Gors op Leeuw. Vliermaal, Schalkhoven, Hoeselt and Rijkhoven gradually disappear under the bicycle wheels before starting the imaginative passage over the cobbled Maastrichterallee Castle of Alden Biesen . Via passages through the villages Kleine Spouwen, Waltwilder, Hoelbeek and Eigenbilzen, the finish is reached after 125 km in the domain of Landal Mooi Zutendaal ! Yes!!!!
